Kamehameha defeated Waipahu in straight sets, 25-11, 25-14, 25-19 in the first round of the New City Nissan/Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division I Boys Volleyball Championships at Moanalua's gymnasium Friday night.
The Warriors move on to take on Oahu Interscholastic Association champion Moanalua Saturday. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
Kahiau Machado led the Warriors with a match-high 11 kills on 17 attempts. Kapu Mau had seven more kills and David Kaa connected on five of his eight attempts. Naone Cannon and Kobe Young added for each.
Andrew Simanu had 10 kills, three block assists and one solo block to lead the Marauders. Jerminae Solomua added nine more and Storm De Asis had six kills and two aces. Christian Ramoran had 25 assists and libero Ejay Tagabi had a match-high 10 digs.
