Kamehameha, Nanakuli earn top seeds for state softball tourneys


Interscholastic League of Honlulu champion Kamehameha is the top seed for the DataHouse Division I state softball tournament, the Hawaii High School Athletic Association announced through a press release.

O'ahu Interscholastic Association champion Mililani is second, Maui Interscholastic League champion Baldwin is third and Big Island Interscholastic Federation champion Hilo is fourth.

The four-day tournament will run Tuesday through Friday at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

The top four seeds draw first-round byes.

In Tuesday's opening round:

Wai'anae vs. Leilehua, 1 p.m.
Campbell vs. Lahainaluna, 3 p.m.
Pearl City vs. Maryknoll, 5 p.m.
Moanalua vs. Mid-Pacific, 7 p.m.

In Division II, where games will be split between Central O'ahu Regional Park and RWSS, OIA White champion Nanakuli is seeded first, Kauai Interscholastic Federation champion Waimea is second, BIIF champion Kamehameha-Hawaii is third and MIL champion Molokai is fourth.

In Tuesday's first round at CORP:

Field 1
Konawaena vs. Waialua, 5 p.m.
Saint Francis vs. Kapaa, 7 p.m.
Field 2
McKinley vs. Kohala, 5 p.m.
Aiea vs. Lanai, 7 p.m.
