'Iolani's Donahue advances to final trials for Team USA


'Iolani senior-to-be Christian Donahue is among 40 players selected to USA Baseball 18-under team trials next month in Los Angeles, according to USA Baseball's website.

Donohue made the cut after 144 players nationwide were evaluated June 19 to 23 at the Tournament of Stars in Cary, N.C. The 40 players picked from the 144 will go through another trial starting Aug. 16 in Los Angeles. The final 20 players picked will represent Team USA in Taiwan 18-under World Cup later in August, the website said.
