In a game many anticipated could have been the championship matchup turned out to be one-sided contest. Oak Hill (Mouth of Wilson, VA) defeated Montrose Christian (Rockville, MD), 65-48 to claim third place in the 'Iolani Classic. Oak Hill edged Montrose in a thrilling double overtime victory to claim the Classic title in 2010.However this time, Oak Hill won convincingly.Oak Hill guard Sindarius Thornwell led the Warriors with 25 points and Ike Iroegbu, Troy Williams and RJ Curlington each contributed 10 points respectively. Montrose forwards Jordan Swopshire and Mark Williams each had 16 points for the Mustangs.It was a tight first quarter as the Warriors edged the Mustangs, 9-8.In the second quarter, Oak Hill went on a 9-0 run to build a 10-point lead, 18-8. Troy Williams thrilled the crowd when he cleaned up Terrance Phillips' miss with a put back dunk after getting fouled, putting the Warriors up 22-14.Montrose would go on a 6-2 run to cut go into halftime trailing, 27-20.In the third quarter, Montrose would cut it to four, but Oak Hill found a way to push the lead back up to double digits. Thornwell blocked a shot and threw down a dunk in transition to put Oak Hill up, 37-27. At 1:21, Mustangs forward Mark Williams was whistled for a technical foul. A Warriors free throw made the score 41-27.In the fourth quarter, Montrose could not surmount the deficit after missing shots from the perimeter and field and Oak Hill was able to create a comfortable lead before closing it out, 65-48.Montrose's Ishmail Wainwright, Jordan Swopshire and Oak Hill's Troy Williams, RJ Curlington, Sindarius Thornwell were named to the All-Tournament Team.
