Jordan Swopshire scored 11 points and Ismail Wainwright and Dane Pepper added 10 apiece to carry Montrose Christian (Mary.) to a 60-28 win over Kahuku in a first-round game of the Iolani Prep Classic Wednesday.

Montrose Christian, the defending tournament champion, entered the tournament ranked seventh in the USA Today Super 25. The Mustangs will play Findlay Prep, who is ranked first in the same poll, in an 8 p.m. quarterfinal Thursday.

Kawehena Johnson led Kahuku with a game-high 21 points. He made all four of his team's 3-pointers and was 7 of 8 from the free throw line. The Red Raiders will play Moanalua in a consolation game at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Montrose Christian held a 31-9 lead at halftime.
